Dr. Kyle Shunkwiler opened Spine & Sports Chiropractic in 2008. Dr. Kyle is a graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic and also a graduate of Logan University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Biology and a Master’s degree in Sports Science and Rehabilitation. Prior to receiving his doctorate and master’s degrees, Dr. Kyle earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. While attending the University of Nebraska, he was a member of the Nebraska Bowling Team. During his junior year, they finished third in the country. He received his High School Diploma from Grand Island Senior High School. Dr. Kyle utilizes multiple degrees and certifications to uniquely treat each patient and injury very specifically. Techniques he applies to specific injuries can include chiropractic joint adjustments, Active Release Technique (A.R.T.) soft tissue and nerve entrapment treatments, as well as physical therapy exercises to strengthen and stabilize the injured areas. His diverse background in multiple disciplines gives him a unique advantage when examining and treating injuries. When not treating patients at Spine & Sports Chiropractic, Dr. Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife, Katy, and his four children, Hadlee, Emilee, Adalyn and Hudson, enjoys playing softball, a golf enthusiast, and loves to bowl. As a native Nebraskan and former Husker himself, you can always find the doctor cheering on the Huskers on game days. Dr. Kyle is a little bit of an entrepreneur. In 2012, he along with 3 other partners opened Defy Gravity in LaVista, Nebraska. Defy Gravity was Nebraska’s first Indoor Trampoline Park. Since then he has gone on to form a gaming company called, Trampoline Ninja and he is soon to open his second Defy Gravity location inside of Speedway Sporting Village located in southwest Lincoln.
